Jordan: Israel’s Aim Is to Prolong the Regional War
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Al Jazeera, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi stated in a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow that Israel’s policies aim to prolong the conflict and expand its control over areas within Palestinian territories, even reaching lebanon and Syria.
Safadi added that the international community must act immediately to halt Israel’s measures,which only result in more devastation and escalating conflict throughout the region.
The Jordanian minister emphasized that the only option supporting regional stability is the Arab initiative based on a two-state solution. Meanwhile, he accused Israel’s Prime Minister of leading a destructive project by committing genocide in gaza and expanding into the West Bank.
He warned that Israel is further destabilizing Syria and Lebanon. Safadi underscored the need for holding Israel accountable while pushing efforts toward securing a ceasefire to end Gaza’s humanitarian crisis.
The minister praised Russia’s stance against Israel’s inhumane actions in Gaza. he also expressed support for Qatar, Egypt, and U.S. efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement there. Additionally, he welcomed European countries’ decisions to recognise Palestine as a state and called on others to follow suit.
Regarding developments in Syria, Safadi affirmed support for reconstructing Syria while preserving its territorial integrity and citizens. He noted cooperation with Damascus and Washington on finding solutions concerning Suwayda province based on Syrian unity. He stressed that Israeli aggression is at the root of Syria’s crisis and demanded an immediate end to these attacks.
