Australian Students Rally to Vote on Israel Boycott
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Yemen’s al Masirah network, an Australian news agency reported that thousands of students at universities across Australia have gathered to discuss and vote on imposing sanctions against Israel.
The head of education for the National Union of Students Australia stated, “This referendum provides an prospect to vote for ending university collaborations with companies that supply military equipment to Israel.”
The Australian news agency added that this referendum follows two years of protests, strikes, and campaigns demanding accountability from the government and universities involved in partnerships with Israel.
The head of education also predicted that more than 5,000 people will register to participate in the vote during the coming week.
