Families of Israeli Captives: Israel Has No Popular Mandate to Continue the War
The families of Israeli captives have stated that the Israeli goverment holds no popular mandate to continue it’s war against Gaza, according to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera.
They emphasized that they will not remain idle and demand the return of their captured relatives.
A few days ago, these families urged Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, to instantly begin negotiations for the release of all Israeli captives held in Gaza.
The families declared they would not allow Netanyahu to sabotage any further agreements.
Today, Thursday, Netanyahu announced he has ordered the immediate start of negotiations for the release of all Israeli captives.
He also said these talks aim to end the Gaza conflict under conditions set by Israel.
Netanyahu added that defeating Hamas and securing the release of all Israeli captives are two interconnected issues.
It is worth noting that over recent months, netanyahu has undermined mediators’ efforts aimed at advancing negotiations due to Hamas’s commitment to this process-delaying progress as a pretext for prolonging the Gaza war.
