Guterres: No Words Can Describe Gaza’s Horrifying Situation
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News agency and Al Jazeera Qatar,United Nations Secretary-General antonio Guterres delivered a stern statement on gaza’s situation: “It seems words have run out to describe Gaza’s hell,and now a new term-‘famine’-has been added.”
Guterres emphasized that under international law, Israel, as an occupying power, has clear and specific obligations, including ensuring access for Gazans to food and medical supplies.
He added: “Famine in Gaza is not a mystery; it is a man-made disaster and a moral indictment reflecting humanity’s failure.”
The Secretary-General warned that this famine goes beyond just food shortages; it represents the intentional collapse of vital systems necessary for human survival.
He continued: “The people of Gaza are grappling with hunger. Children are dying. Those responsible for taking action have failed in their duties.”
Guterres cautioned: “We cannot allow this situation in Gaza to continue without consequences.”
He also called for an immediate ceasefire, the swift release of all Israeli detainees, and full unrestricted access for humanitarian aid.
