Recently, numerous social media accounts affiliated with the Israeli military have adopted this approach. Some posts promote female soldiers engaging in actions aligned with Israeli perspectives accompanied by unconventional attire designed to persuade audiences of IsraelS narrative.
Certain female Israeli soldiers maintain personal social media profiles boasting millions of followers. One such soldier, Natalia Fadif, combines sexualized content with heroic rhetoric for Israel. Her posts mix overt hostility toward Muslims with implicit denial of her army’s atrocities. Such as, she wrote: “We’re going to capture some Muslims,” while elsewhere asking her young followers: “Look into my eyes-do you really think I could commit war crimes?”
Obscene Images Used in Death Announcements
The circulation of revealing photos of female Israeli soldiers extends beyond social media accounts; even mainstream media outlets publish such images when announcing their deaths.
This use of provocative imagery as a tool for justifying Israel’s war crimes was conceived by the cabinet itself. In 2017, it launched a campaign aimed at improving Israel’s image in America through these means.
David Dorfman, a media advisor at Israel’s consulate in the U.S., explained this campaign: “Men at this age feel no connection toward Israel; we see that as an issue-and so we developed an idea that would attract them.”

An additional effort to enhance Israel’s army image involved inviting American celebrities to engage with female IDF soldiers.
