Intense Clash Between Two Generals’ Forces Erupts in Sudan
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Al-Arabi, sources report heavy clashes between forces loyal to General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, commander of the Sudanese army, and troops under General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemeti, leader of Sudan’s rapid support Forces.
The confrontations are taking place in the towns of Kazqil and Al-Riyash in northern Kordofan province.
The source did not provide further details.
Earlier, a military official told Al Jazeera that Sudanese army fighter jets bombed Rapid Support Forces positions in Umm Sammimah, Kazqil, and bara city within northern Kordofan.
Sudan’s ongoing conflict between the army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Rapid Support Forces commanded by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemeti) has persisted for over two years. This crisis has displaced several million people across the country.
