Xi Jinping Urges BRICS Nations to Deepen Trade Cooperation
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Sputnik via Mehr News Agency, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated today, Monday, during an extraordinary BRICS virtual meeting that some countries continuously provoke trade wars and impose tariffs, causing devastating blows to the global economy.
President Xi emphasized that BRICS members must capitalize on their strengths and enhance trade cooperation.
He added that despite global turmoil, BRICS has withstood the challenges and will continue pursuing enduring long-term advancement.
Simultaneously occurring, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced on Sunday that President Xi Jinping would participate in Monday’s virtual BRICS summit.
Earlier reports indicated that brazil would host the extraordinary virtual meeting at the initiative of its President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The gathering aims to discuss U.S. President donald Trump’s trade policies.
