Nepal Riot Death Toll Rises to 51

As ⁢political negotiations continue between Nepal’s political factions and protesters, ‍the ‍death toll from⁣ recent‌ unrest in the country has reached 51.

According to ⁢the‍ English‍ section of⁣ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency‌ and‍ Sputnik, talks ​are ongoing between the president, protest representatives, and the military. The army has ⁤declared a ⁤curfew in an ‌effort to restore order.

The casualties include at ⁤least 21⁢ protesters, three police officers, and several prisoners who were killed ‌during escape attempts.

The Nepalese army⁣ announced it‍ has recovered over ‍100 firearms ⁢looted amid⁣ the riots.

Authorities⁢ also ⁢confirmed that more‍ than 12,500 inmates escaped from multiple prisons across the country during⁤ the chaos.

Following⁤ a‌ deepening political crisis sparked by government-imposed internet restrictions, Nepal’s international airport ⁣was closed and all flights canceled. ​Notably, these restrictions were lifted one day after internal⁢ protests intensified nationwide.
