Zamir: Even After Occupying Gaza, We Cannot Defeat Hamas
The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army admitted the invincibility of the Hamas movement.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, acknowledged during a security meeting in the occupied territories: “We remain committed to achieving our war objectives in Gaza, but even after capturing Gaza City, we will not be able to defeat Hamas.”
Zamir has previously warned repeatedly about the severe consequences of occupying Gaza city without sufficient manpower.
Earlier, two Israeli officials told CNN that Eyal Zamir strongly expresses his opposition during war cabinet meetings to occupying Gaza City due to risks posed to Israeli prisoners held captive.
