U.S. State Department Approves F-16 Fighter Sale to Peru
The U.S. Department of state has approved the potential sale of F-16 fighter jets, logistical equipment, and related support programs to Peru.
The U.S. Department of defense announced that the Department of State has approved a possible sale of F-16 fighter jets and associated equipment to peru, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu.
according to the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency, the package is estimated at around $3.42 billion.It will enhance the Peruvian Air Force’s ability to independently control its airspace, defend its borders, and conduct precise air-to-ground strikes in support of ground forces during anti-drug trafficking operations as well as counterterrorism missions.
The main contractors involved are lockheed Martin, General electric Aerospace Industries, and RTX Corporation.
