Amman Reacts to Escalation of Israeli Regime Attacks on Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Shehab News Agency, Jordan’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Tuesday strongly condemning the Israeli military’s expansion of ground operations in Gaza City, along with intensified aerial bombings and attacks on the city.
The ministry emphasized that widening ground operations in Gaza and heightened tension in the West Bank are driving the region toward increased violence.
Jordan called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by working to compel Israel to instantly cease its assaults on Gaza.
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz claimed that if Hamas does not release prisoners and lay down its arms, “we will destroy Gaza City. To support our troops, we must act forcefully inside Gaza to strike the enemy.”
IDF Chief of Staff Eyal zamir also asserted: “We are deepening our operations into the heart of Gaza City, a critical Hamas stronghold. The operation there is aimed at achieving a moral goal-the return of captives.”
