Pakistan’s Defense Minister comments on the possibility of⁢ Saudi Arabia accessing Pakistan’s nuclear program under their⁣ signed agreement.

According to the English section of webangah News ⁤Agency, citing‍ Mehr News agency ⁢and Russia Today,Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated that under the defense ⁣agreement signed with Riyadh,Pakistan’s nuclear program could be made available to Saudi Arabia if necessary.

Responding to a question about weather other Arab countries could also join this agreement, he said it is indeed too early to answer definitively. Though, he emphasized that “the paths are‍ not closed.” He added that‌ it is‌ the right‍ of countries ‍and nations, especially in Islamic regions, to cooperate in defending their lands.

Asif noted that there is no clause in the agreement preventing other countries‍ from joining.

Regarding the use of Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities ‍under ⁤this‍ pact, he said: ⁢”All our powers will be accessible within this framework. ‍But let me clarify: since Pakistan became a nuclear state, ⁣no one has doubted our standing as ⁤a responsible nuclear power. ‍Our cooperation includes inspections – unlike tel Aviv’s violations which forbid any inspections.” He described the agreement as a NATO-like defense‍ cooperation framework.⁣ “If⁢ an aggression occurs against Pakistan or Saudi arabia, we will undertake joint defense,” he added.

It is worth noting that recently Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed⁤ a strategic defense agreement between their‌ two countries.

The Saudi Press agency (SPA) reported that⁤ this contract stems from historic cooperation between Saudi⁤ Arabia and Pakistan based on brotherly ties, Islamic solidarity,‍ mutual strategic interests, and defense collaborations.

SPA‌ added⁢ that signing this⁤ agreement reflects both⁤ nations’‍ efforts to ⁣strengthen security domestically ⁤and promote peace regionally and globally.

The pact aims to deepen defense collaboration between Riyadh and Islamabad while reinforcing joint deterrence against any potential aggression.

The SPA further stated: “The agreement affirms that any attack against ‍either country will be considered an attack on both.”
