U.S.: We Do Not Oppose Political Process in Iran Nuclear Case
The U.S. representative to the United Nations Security Council stated that America’s vote against lifting sanctions on Iran does not mean opposition to a political process, according to webangah News agency.
He asserted that former President donald Trump repeatedly emphasized America’s consistent readiness for direct, scheduled talks with Iran. The international community should not accept Iran’s insufficient efforts concerning its nuclear program.
It is indeed noteworthy that the UN Security Council convened to discuss a resolution on the continuation of sanction waivers for Iran before the expiration of the 30-day snapback mechanism period.
A reporter from al Mayadeen network reported that nine Security Council members voted against extending UN sanctions relief on Iran. Only four members approved it, while two abstained.
