Moscow and Beijing Launch New Initiative to Resolve Iran’s Nuclear Issue
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing al Mayadeen, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s envoy to the International Atomic energy Agency (IAEA), stated in an interview with Al Mayadeen that Russia and China will soon present a joint initiative to resolve the Iranian nuclear crisis.
He also criticized European countries’ approach, saying their actions have weakened political efforts, diplomacy, and cooperation between the IAEA and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Vassily Nebenzia, Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, emphasized during a Security Council session that signatories of the Iran nuclear agreement do not have the right to reinstate UN sanctions against Tehran.
Nebenzia added that Europe’s “troika” efforts to restore sanctions against Iran lack legal legitimacy.
The Russian representative stressed that European countries reject diplomatic avenues regarding Iran’s nuclear program and asserted that reimposing sanctions on Iran holds no legal validity.
After a resolution extending iran’s sanction waivers failed to pass, Nebenzia condemned attempts to reinstate sanctions against Tehran.
He affirmed that lifting sanctions remains the only correct decision and expressed surprise at South korea aligning with destructive western policies.
nebenzia further noted it is clear that Britain, France, and Germany aim to use the Security Council as leverage against a state defending it’s national interests.
