Reuters: Eight Days Left to Prevent Snapback Mechanism Activation

A Western media outlet reported that Iran and European countries still ⁤have over a week to prevent the reinstatement of United ⁢Nations ⁤sanctions.

According to⁢ the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Reuters reported that Iran and European powers have eight more ⁤days to reach an agreement on delaying the ⁤enforcement of UN sanctions.

The report stated that⁤ on friday, the UN Security Council⁢ put forward a draft ⁤resolution seeking the permanent removal of‍ sanctions⁢ on Iran, but⁣ it failed to secure ‌the necessary support.

Russia, China, ‍Pakistan, and Algeria were among ‍those‌ who voted in‌ favor of this draft resolution.

This session took place after three European countries-Britain,‍ France, and Germany-initiated⁢ a 30-day process on August 28 to reinstate UN sanctions against Iran.

The European trio claimed Tehran has not complied with ⁤the commitments under the 2015 nuclear agreement aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons-a claim consistently denied by Iranian officials.
