Arab Parliament Speaker Urges Global Community to Go Beyond Monitoring and Documenting Crimes
The Arab Parliament welcomed the findings of the United Nations self-reliant international examination committee, which concluded that the Israeli regime committed genocide against Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The report describes these actions as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, as well as all relevant UN conventions and resolutions.
Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, issued a statement declaring that this report represents a strong condemnation of the brutal policies and actions by the occupying regime against Palestinians. It highlights the extent of human suffering among Gaza’s residents-especially children, women, and elderly-caused by siege, starvation, and ongoing aggression.
He stressed that following this report’s release, the international community faces a critical test.It is indeed no longer acceptable to merely observe and document these crimes; rather, decisive and enforceable measures must be taken to implement relevant resolutions, achieve a two-state solution, and put an end to Palestinian suffering.
Al-Yamahi also called for prosecuting leaders of the occupying regime as war criminals before the International Criminal Court. He condemned their policy of impunity that encourages further atrocities.
Reaffirming its stance, Al-Yamahi reiterated that urgent actions are required to support Palestinians’ legitimate right to self-determination through establishing an independent sovereign Palestinian state. He emphasized this as the only just and sustainable way to end both their suffering and Israeli occupation.
