Spain: Why Must the People of Palestine Be Forced to Lose Their Homeland?
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Spain’s foreign Minister José Manuel Albares said in an interview with Al Jazeera on Wednesday that the massacre of innocent Palestinians in Gaza is a violation of humanitarian laws. Killing thousands of Palestinians in Gaza contravenes international law. Today, most European union countries officially recognize the State of Palestine.
The Spanish minister added, “I do not understand why the Palestinian people must be forced to be permanently deprived of their country.” He emphasized that recognizing Palestine gives Spain adn others the strength to continue their efforts on this issue. Spain and the European Union will not recognize any illegal annexation of the West bank by Israeli settlers.
José Manuel Albares also stated: “We have agreed on a total ban on exports to Israel and trade with settlements. We will not recognize any land confiscations or illegal territorial annexations in Palestine. spain works harder then any other country toward achieving a two-state solution and establishing a Palestinian state.” He noted that Israeli ministers who reject a two-state solution will be barred from entering Europe. Albares accused Israel of spreading false claims about Spaniards, alleging anti-Semitism without basis.
