Retired Israeli Officer: Yemenis Have Inflicted Billions of Dollars in Damage on Us
A retired Israeli officer told Channel 14 that Yemenis are not merely actors but pose a strategic threat to Israel beyond all expectations, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency.
He added that Yemenis have effectively closed the Red Sea, causing Israel to suffer billions of dollars in losses due to shipping delays.
The retired officer also noted that Yemenis are among the most popular forces in the Arab world and represent the only front that has successfully attacked strategic targets inside Israel.
In recent days, Yemen’s army and armed forces have launched intense drone and missile attacks on occupied territories. These came in response to Israeli assaults on Sanaa, Yemen’s capital, and also brutal actions against Palestinians in Gaza. The attacks achieved their objectives, and Israel has been unable to counter them effectively.
Yemen controls the Bab al-Mandeb Strait-one of the world’s most vital maritime chokepoints-and has repeatedly targeted Israeli ships navigating this critical passageway.
