Kim Issues Cryptic Statement Following Seoul Report on North Korea’s Uranium Stockpile Increase

North Korea’s leader pledged to expand military measures and allocate‌ more strategic equipment in response to the increased US military presence ⁢in South Korea ahead of the ⁢country’s annual grand parade.

According to‌ the⁢ English section of ‍ webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency ​and Al ⁤Jazeera, ⁤North Korean ‍leader Kim Jong Un emphasized that ‌as the US boosts its military presence in​ South Korea,⁣ Pyongyang’s strategic interests ⁤in the region have also ‍increased. consequently,⁤ special equipment has been‍ assigned ​to ⁣achieve ‌key objectives.

The recent ‌remarks, released by ⁤North Korea’s Central⁢ News Agency⁢ just days after South Korea claimed Pyongyang amassed a notable quantity⁢ of weapons-grade enriched​ uranium, ​highlight a sharp ⁢rise in North Korea’s nuclear material ⁤stockpile.

At a military exhibition ⁣held prior to North Korea’s annual parade,Kim‌ said: “I believe ⁣our enemies ​should be concerned about the direction their security posture is taking.”

He ⁢added that ⁢North Korea⁤ “will undoubtedly‌ take further‌ military actions to prepare‍ for responding to an‍ increase in US forces.” ⁣However, he did ⁣not provide additional⁣ details.

In recent⁣ weeks, ⁣Kim ordered senior officials to ‌strengthen the country’s “nuclear shield ⁢and sword,” stressing ⁢that onyl a “reciprocal nuclear action” can guarantee national security.

Kim is set to lead a major‍ military‍ parade⁤ on October 10​ marking the 80th anniversary of‍ the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea. The⁤ event is expected to showcase Pyongyang’s latest weapons and other military equipment.

South Korean news ⁢agency Yonhap reported analysts ⁢suggest Pyongyang⁣ may unveil its next-generation Hwasong-20 intercontinental ballistic missile ‍during this parade.
