Human Rights Watch Urges Immediate Measures to Support Palestinians
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu, Human Rights Watch has urged governments to take urgent steps to protect Palestinians. These include imposing an arms embargo on Tel Aviv and supporting the International Criminal Court.
In its statement, Human Rights Watch referenced U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the Gaza conflict, stating that the plan cannot replace immediate actions required by governments. These actions are necessary to protect civilians and advance justice after two years of serious human rights violations.
the organization called on world governments, regardless of whether Trump’s plan is implemented, to enact urgent measures such as arms embargoes and targeted sanctions while backing the International Criminal Court.
The statement detailed that israeli forces killed tens of thousands of primarily civilian Palestinians in Gaza.Entire families were wiped out, and the daily average number of children killed was comparable to a full classroom of students.
Human Rights Watch further noted that this conflict reduced most of Gaza Strip to rubble, wholly destroying neighborhoods and cities. Severe damage was inflicted on homes, schools, hospitals, and urban infrastructure. Moreover, Israeli authorities used starvation as a weapon of war and repeatedly forced nearly all residents in Gaza to flee their homes multiple times.
