Staggering Statistics Reveal Two Years of Israeli Crimes in Gaza’s Health Sector
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Shehab News Agency, Gaza’s Ministry of Health published comprehensive data marking two years since Operation Al-Aqsa Storm and highlighting the genocide and atrocities committed by the Israeli regime in Gaza.
The report states that since the onset of war, there have been 67,173 fatalities and 169,780 injuries in Gaza. among those killed are 20,179 children, 10,427 women, 4,813 elderly individuals, and 31,754 men.
The ministry also reports that 1,701 medical personnel have been killed while 362 have been detained by Israeli forces. The statement adds that out of 38 hospitals in Gaza, 25 have ceased operation due to Israeli attacks; only 13 remain partially functional under extremely tough conditions.Additionally, occupiers destroyed 103 out of 157 primary healthcare centers, with just 54 centers operating partially.
Gaza’s Ministry of Health highlights that regular disruptions to medical aid deliveries and obstacles preventing safe access to hospitals-coupled with rising casualties-have intensified shortages in essential medicines and medical supplies critical for vital departments. Over 55 percent of medications are unavailable along with 66 percent of consumables and 68 percent shortage in laboratory equipment.
The report further reveals intentional targeting of health institutions has damaged electrical and electromechanical systems: occupiers destroyed 25 out of 35 oxygen production stations as well as 61 out of 110 power generators.
The level of famine in Gaza has reached a critical threshold according to UN classifications. There have been 460 deaths from hunger and malnutrition, including 154 children, while over 51,196 children under five years old suffer from severe acute malnutrition.
The report notes that blocking routine and emergency vaccinations caused an estimated 80 percent drop in childhood immunization coverage, alongside halting a fourth phase preventive poliovirus vaccination campaign-which increases disease transmission risks-posing critically important threats to children’s health.
Gaza’s Ministry added there are approximately 4,900 cases involving amputations or disabilities needing assistive devices and long-term rehabilitation programs. Meanwhile closed crossings preventing patients’ travel blocked about 18,000 sick individuals-including 5,580 children-from seeking treatment abroad.
