Joseph Aoun Responds to Wave of Israeli Attacks on Southern Lebanon
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Al Jazeera via Mehr news Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the violent Israeli assaults on southern Lebanon last night. He stated, “Once again, southern Lebanon came under open fire from Israel; these attacks targeted civilian infrastructure without any justification or excuse.”
Aoun added, “The recent Israeli aggression is especially alarming as it follows the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the Palestinian side’s acceptance of related arms mechanisms.”
This comes amid resistance groups emphasizing their refusal to disarm and affirming the legitimacy of armed defense against Israeli aggressors.
The president further questioned whether some parties are attempting to compensate for losses suffered in Gaza by escalating aggression in Lebanon, thereby pursuing their political goals through continued killings and attacks.
Last night, Al Mayadeen correspondent reported several heavy airstrikes by Israel targeting areas between the towns of Msayleh and Najariyeh in southern Lebanon.
According to this Lebanese outlet, these air raids struck excavation vehicles and bulldozers in that region. The attacks resulted in one fatality and several injuries.
