Israeli Defense Minister Sets Precedent of Unreliability in Ceasefire

Yisrael Katz identified Gaza’s tunnels as the regime’s biggest challenge and announced, in a first ⁢breach ⁤of the ceasefire⁤ agreement, that he has ordered the army‌ to destroy the tunnels after Israeli captives ⁤are⁢ freed.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, ⁤citing Mehr⁢ News Agency and Al Jazeera, Yisrael Katz, Israel’s Minister of War, ‌stated that after ⁢securing the release of Israeli prisoners, the primary challenge for his ⁢regime will be⁣ the direct‍ destruction of all Hamas⁣ tunnels in Gaza.

Katz said he has instructed the military to prepare for a mission to demolish Hamas⁣ tunnels once Israel’s captives have ‌been returned.

He sought to ⁢justify statements contradicting efforts toward a ceasefire in Gaza by claiming that destroying Hamas’s tunnels is part of implementing an agreed-upon principle aimed at disarming Hamas ‌and ⁤stripping its military capabilities.

This assertion comes despite Hamas rejecting‍ any clause related to disarming its resistance factions.Any attack on Gaza under the pretext of⁣ tunnel demolition would also constitute a‍ clear violation of ⁢the ceasefire agreement.
