Explosion in Italy Kills Three Police Officers
The English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and The New York Times,reported that an explosion at a rural home in northern Italy resulted in the deaths of three police officers and left 13 others wounded.
According too Guido Crosetto, Italy’s Minister of Defense, the explosion occurred as officials from several agencies, along with firefighters, were entering the house in the province of Verona to enforce an evacuation order.
A spokesperson for the Carabinieri, Italy’s military police, stated that officers became trapped under debris after the two-story building collapsed.
Luca Zaia, a regional official, saeid the blast was heard from three miles away. He added that three sisters and their brother who lived on the farm had refused to leave despite being ordered to evacuate.
