Hegset: If the Ukraine War Continues, We Are Ready to Deter with Our Allies
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, US Secretary of Defense Pete hegseth claimed in remarks made largely to please his country’s narcissistic president that the war in Ukraine must end-as former President Trump did in Gaza and West Asia (the Middle East).
The US defense chief added, aiming to secure European material wealth under the pretext of sending weapons to Ukraine, that Europeans should continue bearing primary responsibility for defending their continent. He said the time has come to end the war in Ukraine. “If this war does not end, the United States and its allies are prepared for deterrence.”
This comes as Moscow has repeatedly emphasized that Western arms shipments to Ukraine will not alter the balance on the battlefield as Ukraine faces severe manpower shortages alongside widespread desertion and draft evasion.
Recently, former US President Donald Trump claimed that by financing Europeans’ purchase of American weapons, Ukraine remains capable of achieving its territorial goals.
This statement directly contradicts his earlier assessment when he said Ukraine “has no cards” left to play.
