Zelensky: Trump Has a Major Opportunity to Stop the Ukraine War
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency adn Al Jazeera, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with former U.S. President donald Trump at the White House and emphasized his efforts to accelerate an end to the war in Ukraine.
Zelensky claimed that Russia is losing many soldiers and suffering economic damage in this conflict. He said that ending the war in Gaza could create momentum for ending the conflict in Ukraine.
The ukrainian president stressed that Trump holds a significant opportunity to halt the war. “we need a ceasefire in Ukraine, but Putin does not want this,” he said.
Zelensky stated he woudl discuss with trump what is necessary to compel Putin to come to the negotiating table.
He added that Ukraine requires security guarantees and weapons, which he plans to review with Trump.
Zelensky also noted his country’s need for Tomahawk missiles-whose export from the U.S.has been opposed-because they coordinate better with Ukrainian drones.
