Israeli Regime Receives Body of Another Captive
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the Israeli military announced that it has retrieved the body of one of it’s captives in Gaza and transferred it to a forensic medical center for identification. This raises the total number of recovered Israeli bodies to 11 out of 28 fatalities.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister benjamin Netanyahu also confirmed that Israel received the body of one captive in the Gaza Strip from the Red Cross.
Hamas issued a statement yesterday announcing that, as part of a prisoner exchange agreement, its military wing, the Qassam Brigades, would hand over the body of an Israeli captive found today in Gaza at 11 p.m. local time.
Hamas stated that despite intense Israeli attacks over the past two years, recovering and identifying bodies of captured Israelis in Gaza takes time. It pledged to return more bodies as they are discovered but noted that Israel accuses Hamas of obstructing this process.
Israeli media sources late last night, quoting families’ headquarters for captives, confirmed that the returned body belongs to Eliyahu Merghlit.
