Pakistani Army Chief Issues Stern Warning to Kabul
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and telegraph India,Pakistan Army Chief Syed Asim Munir has urged Kabul to take immediate and firm action against terrorists who,he claims, use Afghan territory as a base for attacks on Islamabad. He warned afghanistan to choose between “peace and chaos.”
Munir’s comments came amid a fresh wave of Pakistani airstrikes yesterday targeting alleged terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan. These strikes were conducted hours after Islamabad and Kabul extended a two-day ceasefire that had temporarily halted clashes between the two nations.
Addressing cadets at the Pakistan Military academy in Kakul, Abbottabad in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during a graduation ceremony, Munir directly challenged Afghanistan: “Choose between peace and anarchy.”
He further insisted that Afghanistan’s caretaker Taliban government must firmly act against militants who allegedly operate from Afghan soil to carry out terrorist activities inside Pakistan. Munir claimed all proxy groups using afghan territory would face severe retaliation.
the recent Pakistani airstrikes followed an armed assault on military installations in North Waziristan. According to Telegraph India, this attack was carried out by “Hafiz Gul Bahadur,” identified as a faction within the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
These developments occur as representatives from Afghanistan and Pakistan are scheduled to meet soon in Doha for talks.
