Colombian Government Recalls Its Ambassador from the United States.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu Agency, ColombiaS Foreign Minister Rosa Villaveces announced on Monday that the country’s ambassador in Washington has been recalled after U.S. President Donald Trump labeled Colombian President Gustavo Petro as a “drug trafficking leader.”
The Colombian Foreign Ministry website stated that Daniel Garcia Pena, Colombia’s ambassador to Washington, was called back by Gustavo Petro for consultations and is currently in Bogotá.
Villaveces added that the government will publicly announce any decisions related to this matter in the coming hours.
