U.S. Senate Fails for 11th Time to Stop Government Shutdown

Teh U.S. Senate failed for the eleventh time to pass a budget package aimed at ending the government shutdown.

The United States ‍Senate was unable to approve the proposed funding bill intended to end the federal government shutdown, according to‍ the ⁤English ⁢section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today.

This deadlock has prolonged a crisis that began weeks ago.

The shutdown has had a direct and severe impact on federal employees. according to Congressional Budget Office estimates, up to ⁣750,000 federal workers have been placed on furlough without pay until a budget is passed.‍ Meanwhile, about 700,000 others deemed essential continue working without compensation. For the first time in recent days, many federal workers missed ⁣their⁤ paychecks entirely, causing intense financial pressure on them and their families.

The shutdown has ⁢also disrupted a wide range of public services. air traffic control is experiencing significant problems. The ‍Aerospace Industries Association warned that this closure halts new projects, stifles innovation, and slows down the ⁣Federal Aviation Governance’s operations. Additionally, passport and visa processing face considerable delays.

Economically, experts estimate that this ongoing shutdown could reduce ⁢GDP growth by 0.15 percent-a figure likely to rise if it persists further. ⁣The growing $1.775 trillion federal deficit projected ‍for fiscal year 2025 continues to raise concerns. The Trump administration points to this deficit as justification for spending cuts and government downsizing.

One of the most controversial elements of ⁤the shutdown is the Trump administration’s decision to suspend or cut funding ‌for infrastructure⁤ projects in cities governed by Democrats. On day one ‍of the closure, Ras Woot announced⁢ roughly $18 billion in suspended infrastructure funding for New York City projects including the Hudson Tunnel and Second ‍Avenue Subway lines. Moreover, $8 billion linked to climate-related initiatives was halted across 16 states that supported Kamala Harris in the 2024 election cycle. An⁢ additional⁢ $2.1 billion earmarked for Chicago infrastructure projects was also suspended.

The impacts extend beyond domestic affairs; they⁣ affect U.S foreign policy and global standing as well. Amid this crisis, Trump met with Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House⁣ and held phone talks with Vladimir Putin-diplomatic activities taking place while large parts of government remain shut down and State Department staff are furloughed.

The shutdown also negatively influences foreign aid programs, military operations abroad, and America’s ability to respond effectively to international crises-possibly weakening its global ‍position‌ and eroding allies’ trust.
