Hamas: Israel Must Pay for Gaza Strip Reconstruction
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Moussa Abu Marzouk, a member of Hamas’s political bureau and head of its international relations office, told Sputnik that rebuilding the Gaza Strip, devastated by Israeli forces, is a right owed to more than 2 million Palestinians who lost their homes and sources of income.
He added: “The Security Council resolution calls for the reconstruction of Gaza. We believe that the Israeli occupiers are primarily responsible for this destruction and must pay the full cost of restoration.”
Abu Marzouk stressed that reconstruction should begin immediately and cover all sectors, especially infrastructure and power plants. “We welcome participation from all parties in Gaza’s reconstruction process. We have no objections to international supervision or intermediaries overseeing project implementation; in fact, it woudl be preferable.”
