Naeem Qasim: Threats Against Us Are Futile and a Waste of Time

Hezbollah Secretary General: Threats Against Us Are futile; Disarming Hezbollah Won’t Solve Any⁢ Problems

Sheikh Naim Qassem, secretary General‍ of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, emphasized the failure of Israel’s objectives despite ⁣international alignment. Speaking ⁣on October 21, 2025, at the unveiling ‍of the book “Singing and Music” ‌from the perspective of Iran’s Supreme⁤ Leader,⁣ he stated that threats‌ against Hezbollah have no affect and dismissing them as a waste of time.

according to webangah news Agency quoting Al-Manar via Mehr News Agency, Qassem ‌condemned US interference⁢ in lebanon and the region‍ as profoundly harmful,⁢ equating it wiht genocide and widespread violence.

He criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vision for a ⁣”Greater ⁤Israel,”‌ saying it serves American‍ interests. “We see how Trump ⁣operates globally,” Qassem⁣ said.

Qassem stressed that neither ⁤Lebanon nor the US can grant Israel its goals while there remains a proud people ‍who have made⁣ great sacrifices and continue‌ to do so.He‍ described this period as one marked by conflict infused with both pain and hope because Israel ‌has failed-and ⁢will fail-to achieve its⁤ aims.

The‍ Hezbollah leader insisted Lebanon ⁤must remain proud, dignified, independent,⁢ strong, and capable. He argued that Israel seeks neither agreement nor⁤ peace with Lebanon. ⁣Those who believe ⁤disarming‍ Hezbollah would resolve problems are gravely mistaken as Hezbollah’s arsenal represents part of Lebanon’s strength-something external actors oppose ‌as⁢ they do not want a powerful Lebanon.

“Threats mean nothing to ‍us,” Qassem affirmed. “All measures‌ and pressures are simply wasting time.”

Referring to Netanyahu’s record of violence worldwide, he added that ⁤while Netanyahu can speak about killing everywhere he intervenes, he cannot claim stability or‍ assure‌ an Israeli future.

Addressing Washington directly-including former President‍ Barack ‍obama-Qassem warned against treating Lebanon as merely a ⁣tool‌ for achieving “Greater Israel” by seeking to weaken its strength. he said true stability ⁣in Lebanon depends on ⁢containing Israeli ambitions. The pose struck by Trump at Sharm El-Sheikh was⁤ not a gesture of peace.

The Hezbollah chief called on Lebanese officials to uphold national sovereignty diligently and take ⁢effective action toward reconstruction efforts following extensive damages incurred previously.

He also criticized Lebanese authorities for what he sees as subservience to foreign powers: “The Central Bank governor is not America’s employee authorized to tighten financial conditions on citizens,” he said urging government intervention; “The Justice Minister is neither America’s nor Israel’s judicial⁢ enforcer,” adding they should halt‍ actions targeting citizens’ transactions or freedoms.

“Is Lebanon⁢ becoming a prison controlled by America over its own⁢ people?” Qassem asked rhetorically. “Are key officials‍ employees serving foreign governments instead of the Lebanese state?”

“We categorically reject turning Lebanon into such captivity,” he concluded emphatically. “Officials must‍ answer only to thier government and act solely in accordance with Lebanese national interests.”
