Ryabkov: Resolving Iran’s Nuclear Issue Is Only Possible Through Diplomacy

According too the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, Sergey Ryabkov, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, stated on Wednesday that the situation surrounding Iran’s nuclear program can only be resolved through diplomatic means; there is no other alternative.
Ryabkov stressed that Western countries must abandon their selfish desires and direct their efforts not towards destruction but towards negotiating solutions. He said resolving Iran’s nuclear issue-like other crises in the Middle East-is achievable solely through diplomacy and negotiation, with no reasonable substitutes.
He made these remarks during a session titled ”The History and Policy of Russian Nuclear Affairs and Public Diplomacy in the Nuclear Sphere,” organized by the Energy and Security Center with support from Russia’s Presidential Grants Foundation.
