Al-Qassam Commander Assassinated in Gaza; Second High-Profile Killing in Days

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ahmed Al-Batsh, known as ‘Abu Osama,’ a commander in the Al-Qassam Brigades, has been assassinated in an attack near the Al-Sfatwai intersection in the northern Gaza Strip. Data published by Mehr News Agency, quoting the Palestinian “Shehab” News Agency, reported the incident.

Further details regarding the scope of this assassination have not yet been released, and the Al-Qassam Brigades have not responded to the claims of the commander’s assassination. This is the second assassination of an Al-Qassam commander in the past few days.

On Thursday, September 9, 2026, the Al-Qassam Brigades issued a statement confirming the martyrdom of Farah Ahmed Abdulmajeed Hamed, a member of the group’s military council in the West Bank. According to this statement, Hamed was martyred following an attack by the Israeli regime in the western Gaza City.
