Siaratu: Preparations Underway for Russia-US Meeting in Hungary

According too the English section of webangah⁤ News Agency, citing​ Sputnik News via Mehr News agency, Hungarian Foreign ⁤Minister Péter Szijjártó‍ announced on Monday that Hungary is ready ‍to host negotiations ⁣between Russia and the United States at​ any time.

The minister added that the United States has made it clear it has not abandoned the idea of a meeting with Russia-only the timing remains unresolved.‍ Preparations for a Russia-US summit in Hungary are underway, and⁣ ensuring a​ peaceful outcome from‌ the talks​ is essential.

Péter Szijjártó⁤ previously‍ stated that if President Vladimir Putin travels to Hungary, the ‌country will not comply with any International Criminal Court ⁣warrant for his arrest.‌ He also⁣ dismissed reports of postponement regarding the proposed Russia-US summit in Budapest, noting no date has yet‍ been set. He expressed ⁤hope that European countries will allow Putin’s plane to transit through ‍their airspace ‌en‍ route to Hungary;⁤ or else, he⁢ suggested they are not⁣ committed to peace.
