Lebanese Army Responds Militarily to Israeli Troopers’ Incursion

The english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and al-Nashra, reports that Lebanese sources have confirmed the lebanese army is strengthening its deployment in southern Lebanon under orders from President Michel Aoun. This build-up targets regions such as Khiam and Aitaroun to confront incursions by the Israeli regime’s ground forces.
These sources stated that a large number of support troops have been deployed in southern Lebanon. Some units, equipped with military gear, moved into al-Mahafir plain near the village of Aitaroun.
The army also dispatched vehicles and equipment to the town of Khiam as part of these measures.
These steps represent part of broader efforts to reinforce the Lebanese army’s presence in southern Lebanon against attempts by Israeli military personnel to penetrate this territory.
Earlier, President Michel Aoun directed Army Commander General Joseph Aoun to prevent any breach by Israeli forces into southern Lebanon in order to protect Lebanese land and citizens.
Aoun emphasized that the attack on Bled El-Said municipality-resulting in the death of an employee-is part of israel’s aggressive actions targeting civilians.
The president urged members of the ceasefire monitoring committee-which includes U.S. representation-not merely to record incidents but also to pressure Israel into ending violations against Lebanon’s sovereignty.
Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, responding to recent Israeli aggressions against southern Lebanon said incidents at bled El-Said and Al-Adaisseh villages as well as airstrikes on outskirts of al-Aisheh, Al-Jarmaq, and Al-Khardali-and breaches into Beirut’s airspace-constitute acts surpassing violations of national sovereignty and UN resolutions; these are outright aggressions requiring more than condemnation alone.
