Jordan Opposes Western Troop Presence to Manage Gaza Strip

JordanS Foreign Minister emphasized his country’s opposition too the deployment of Western forces in Gaza to administer the enclave.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi told Al-Sharq that Jordan has reached an agreement with Egypt to train Palestinian police forces for deployment in Gaza.
He added,”We are preparing to implement this agreement. Jordan opposes the presence of Western forces managing affairs in Gaza.”
A few days earlier, King Abdullah II stated that Jordan woudl not send troops to Gaza.
Safadi further explained that Jordan and Egypt are ready to train Palestinian security personnel.
