White House: BBC Broadcasts Completely Fake News

According too the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency from Politico, White House spokesperson Caroline Lewitt stated that the BBC spreads “false” narratives. She cited their portrayal of the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol-as supporters of then-President Donald Trump stormed the building-as her reason for this claim.
In comments published by The Telegraph, Lewitt criticized the BBC for showing “edited and selective” footage of Trump’s speech during a program about the event. She added that this outlet “no longer deserves viewers’ attention” on British television.
Lewitt told the newspaper: “The deliberately dishonest and selectively edited clip by BBC serves as further proof that they are completely and entirely fake news. British taxpayers are forced to fund a propaganda machine.”
On January 6, 2021, supporters of then-President Donald Trump sought to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election by attacking the Capitol building. At least five people died in clashes with police during this riot.
At that time, Trump claimed his Democratic opponent joe Biden had won through election fraud.
The January 6 attack was considered the largest assault on the U.S. Capitol as British forces burned it along with other sites during the War of 1812.
This incident led to Trump’s second impeachment by a Democrat-controlled House of Representatives; Democrats accused him of inciting his supporters. The January 6 riot has also resulted in numerous congressional investigations and hundreds of legal prosecutions against those alleged to have participated in it.
