Stoltenberg: NATO Will Not Start World War III Over Ukraine

According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency,Jens Stoltenberg,former NATO Secretary General,told the British newspaper The Sunday Times that he was worried about the alliance’s collapse when then-U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to withdraw from NATO in 2018.
He added that promises by European countries to increase defense spending ultimately prevented the United States from leaving and stopped NATO from disintegrating.
Regarding the possibility of the Ukraine war spreading to other countries and NATO’s role in confronting Russia, Stoltenberg stated that NATO would not trigger World War III because of Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy views his country as the frontline against Russia and has called for a more active NATO involvement in fighting moscow. He believes Ukraine has become a victim of compromises between NATO, the U.S., and Russia.
