Sudan Takes Action Against UAE at International Summit

According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, Sudan’s delegation at the 26th session of the United Nations General Assembly on Tourism in Riyadh left the venue in protest against the appointment of a UAE figure as president of the assembly.
After Sudan’s Minister of Culture and Media, Khalid Al-Aisr, delivered his speech at the meeting, his country’s delegation exited the hall.
Al-Aisr emphasized that destruction caused by militia attacks in Sudan stems from support provided by regional and foreign groups backing these militias. He added that these countries contribute financially to sustaining their war efforts.
In this session, Nasser Al-Nuaimi, a UAE candidate, was unanimously elected as Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Association until 2029.
Earlier reports indicated Chad has been accused of facilitating arms transfers from the UAE to cities like Abyei and Umm Jarras while supporting rapid response forces. The UAE built a hospital in Abyei for Sudanese refugees; however, some reports suggest this facility is used for military purposes, including weapons smuggling and supplying drones to rebel forces.
