Gaza Records World’s Highest Child Amputation Rates
The American University of Beirut highlights the highest global rate of child amputations in the Gaza Strip.
According too the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Shihab, a report issued by the American University of Beirut reveals that the Gaza Strip has recorded the highest worldwide incidence of child amputations.
The report emphasizes that by September 2025, more than 170,000 people have been wounded in Gaza, with one-quarter requiring long-term treatment amid the collapse of its healthcare system.
It further states that Gaza suffers from a severe shortage of medical staff and equipment, making treatment for injured and disabled individuals nearly unfeasible.
