Zelensky: I Am Not Afraid of Trump; Our Relations Are Normal and Constructive

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency, Volodymyr Zelensky rejected reports about a tense recent meeting in Washington during an interview with The Guardian. He also praised King charles of England for his role in strengthening his relationship with the US president.
Zelensky stated that unlike other Western leaders, he is not afraid of Donald Trump. He denied claims about tension during their last meeting in washington and emphasized that he has a good relationship with the US president.
The Ukrainian president refuted allegations that trump threw battlefield maps during a heated discussion at the White House last October. Zelensky said, “Trump did not throw anything,” and described their relationship as “normal,” “professional,” and “constructive.”
He added, ”The truth is that everyone in the world fears Trump. But we are not America’s enemy; we are friends. So why should we be afraid?”
Zelensky revealed that after a strained meeting in February at the Oval Office-where Trump openly pressured him and dismissed him from the White House-King Charles played a key role in repairing his ties with Trump.
The president said he cooperates closely with international partners to protect Ukraine from nocturnal drone attacks by Russia. He intends to order 27 Patriot air defence systems from American manufacturers, while European countries could lend Ukraine their existing Patriot systems in the meantime.
zelensky reported that Russian forces have recently captured most of eastern Pokrovske city. He added that the Kremlin has launched a “hybrid war against Europe” while probing NATO’s red lines.
He warned Russia might open a second front against Ukraine before this war ends. The presence of unidentified drones over European countries reflects Moscow’s desperation in its conflict with Kyiv, he said.
Zelensky accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of viewing America and the West as enemies, stating: “For America, friendship with Russia is not a solution.”
