Macron Warns Tel Aviv Against West Bank Annexation

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr news Agency and Agence France-Presse, Emmanuel Macron warned in a joint press conference with Mahmoud abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority, that any Israeli move to annex parts of the West Bank is a “red line” and would trigger a firm response from Europe.
He described settler violence and accelerated settlement projects as threats to stability in the West Bank and violations of international law. Macron stressed that partial or full annexation constitutes a European red line.
During the meeting, a joint committee was established to draft an interim constitution, election laws, and regulations on political party activities. The Palestinian Authority president reaffirmed his commitment to reforms and holding presidential and parliamentary elections onc the ceasefire in Gaza is stable.
Since the outbreak of war in Gaza, more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank.
