Trump Vows to Sue BBC

US President called BBC deceptive and vowed legal action against ⁤the broadcaster.

According to the English section of webangah News ​Agency,citing Mehr News Agency,US President Donald Trump stated in‍ an interview with Fox News that the BBC misled the public,and he feels compelled to ⁣pursue legal action.

He reiterated⁤ his threat ‌to file a $1 billion lawsuit ​against the BBC,saying,”I consider it my duty‍ to do so.They deceived people and have admitted it themselves. It is regrettable that this happened in one of our ⁢allied countries.”

The US official added, “They altered⁣ my January 6 speech, taking words that ⁢were ‍calm‍ and ‌soothing ⁣and presenting them ‍as ⁣if​ they were⁣ radical and provocative.”

Tim Davie,⁣ Director General⁢ of ​the BBC, resigned on ‍Sunday following criticism over how ⁤Trump’s speech ahead of the January ‍6, 2021 Capitol attack was edited. This version⁤ aired last year on Panorama shortly before the ⁢2024 presidential election.

A legal letter from Trump’s attorney Alejandro brito ‍demanded that BBC immediately retract its false statements about the US ⁢President.

The ‌letter warned⁢ that if⁤ BBC fails to comply, the President will have no choice but to take legal action​ to defend his rights and may seek damages ⁣totaling at least $1 billion.
