G7 Demands Direct Talks Between Iran and the United States

according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the U.S. Department of State website, the seven major industrialized countries released a joint statement demanding that Iran fully comply wiht its obligations under both United Nations Security Council resolutions and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The statement did not mention the U.S.’s unilateral withdrawal from the nuclear deal in 2018 during Donald TrumpS presidency or breaches by the European trio.
The declaration, which omitted any reference to Iran’s constructive cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), demanded that Tehran resume full cooperation with the IAEA and grant access to all nuclear sites and materials.
It also urged Iran to engage in direct talks with the United States, supported by the three European countries known as the European trio-Britain, Germany, and France.
The G7 further claimed: “We call on all UN member states to uphold their commitments following lawful implementation of the ‘snapback’ mechanism.”
The statement reiterated accusations regarding military assistance from Iran and North Korea to Russia, condemning these actions.It also highlighted Beijing’s shipment of weapons and dual-use equipment to Moscow as a key factor prolonging Russia’s war effort.
The two-day G7 summit in Canada concluded with this declaration.
