Pushkov: Putin-Trump Summit Agreements Unwelcome for Ukrainians

The russian presidential aide announced⁤ that⁣ the agreements reached in Anchorage ⁣(the Alaska meeting between Putin ​and Trump) have been communicated⁣ to the Ukrainian side, but they‌ are not pleased.

According to the English⁤ section of⁣ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and RIA Novosti, Yuri Ushakov, aide to the⁤ Russian president, stated on Sunday that the planned meeting​ between Putin and Trump has been postponed for now, but talks ‍are ongoing.

Ushakov added that Russia and the United States are actively negotiating a resolution to the Ukraine crisis based⁣ on the understandings reached ⁤in Anchorage during the Alaska summit between ​Putin and Trump. Moscow views these agreements as a positive path toward a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine issue.

He further noted that ‌these understandings have been conveyed ​to Ukraine, though they ‍do⁣ not welcome⁢ them. the United States has not⁢ officially declared whether it ⁣will implement these Anchorage agreements. If Putin and Trump agree to meet, many technical details regarding arranging the summit will be secondary considerations.
