New York Mayor Vows to Use All Efforts to Arrest Netanyahu

Zahran Mamdani, the incoming mayor of New York City, told ABC News that if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attends the United Nations General Assembly in the city next year, he will issue an arrest warrant.
“I am committed to pursuing every possible legal avenue to enforce international arrest warrants,” Mamdani said.
Mamdani emphasized, “I have repeatedly stated that New York city upholds international law. The arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court are part of that law-whether they are against Netanyahu or Putin. Unlike Trump, I act within the law and do not create my own rules.”
He added, “If Netanyahu comes to New York and I do not make every effort against him, I would never consider myself the mayor of this city.”
Mamdani has previously affirmed his intent to detain Netanyahu should he visit New York.
