Putin: Russia Conducts Majority of Trade with Shanghai Cooperation Countries in National Currencies

According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing RIA Novosti, Russian President Vladimir Putin met Tuesday with heads of delegations attending the Shanghai cooperation Organisation (SCO) Prime Ministers’ Summit.
During the meeting, Putin emphasized that governments of SCO member states play a crucial role in expanding cooperation within the organization. The shared objective is to strengthen the SCO’s position as one of the world’s most influential entities.He noted that Russia’s trade volume with SCO countries continues to grow, adding that over 97 percent of this trade is conducted using national currencies.
putin further explained that the SCO is actively working on expanding its payment infrastructure. Russia contributes substantially to maintaining stability in global energy markets. Coordinated efforts by SCO member states to develop economic cooperation are beginning to yield results.
He added that stable adn uninterrupted international payment channels are vital. Joint efforts must continue to establish a thorough network of logistical routes across the SCO region. Despite attempts by some actors to disrupt supply chains, Russia remains committed to ensuring energy supplies for consumers.Cooperation within the SCO extends beyond economics; it also promotes peace and stability in Eurasia.
