Zakharova: Militarization of the Baltics Is Actively Underway; London’s Double Standards Exposed

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said Thursday in an interview with RIA Novosti: NATO does not hide its plans to turn the Baltic Sea into an inland waterway and isolate Russia. However, these plans will not be realized. NATO aims to restrict maritime transport linked to Russian interests in the Baltic Sea as much as possible. By launching the Baltic Guard mission, NATO seeks to impose its own navigation rules in these waters.
Zakharova added that the militarization of the Baltic region is actively progressing, with NATO forces and equipment flooding into the area. The issue involves not only Lithuania but also European Union commitments regarding goods transported to Kaliningrad. NATO countries show no willingness to discuss ways to reduce tensions in this region. Russia will use all available tools necessary to ensure its national security.
Zakharova further stated that London claims goodwill but is pursuing an anti-Russian policy in practice. Russia never sought confrontation with Britain but has merely responded appropriately.London is not prepared for normalizing relations or engaging in dialog with Moscow. simultaneously occurring, Russia remains ready for normalization talks with London. She accused Britain of trying to blame Russia for any lack of progress toward peace in Ukraine.
