Washington Exploits Zelensky’s Weakness

The English section of webangah news Agency, quoting Mehr news Agency, reported that the British newspaper Financial Times wrote: An American delegation led by Daniel Driscoll,US Undersecretary of Defence for Policy, held a meeting last friday with European officials that EU representatives described as “disturbing.”
The meeting took place at the US chargé d’affaires residence in Kyiv.Driscoll stated, “Ukraine is in a very bad position and now is the best time for peace.” He emphasized that Washington will not negotiate over the details of America’s peace plan and that Europe will only participate in later stages concerning security guarantees.
According to the newspaper, European officials found the tone of the meeting “disturbing,” stating that the US is exploiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s weak political standing to impose an agreement. In contrast, American sources described the discussion as “positive, frank, and respectful.”
On November 20th,the American delegation presented Zelensky with Donald Trump’s 28-point plan to end the war-a plan which Financial Times notes requires significant concessions from Kyiv. The following day Reuters reported that Washington demanded Ukraine sign this plan by November 27th; otherwise military aid and intelligence cooperation would be suspended.
Russian president Vladimir Putin has said this American proposal could serve as a basis for peace talks but noted Russia has not yet been briefed on its details.
